Community Learning & Networking

Dress for Success Toronto is committed to building strong communities. Our free multi-week group sessions offer an inspiring and encouraging network for you to work toward your goals in a safe and supportive online environment.

These are intimate and dynamic spaces where you can meet new people, share experiences and build a network of ongoing support with fellow participants, facilitators and staff. Group sessions take place on a weekly basis over Zoom, with the opportunity to meet in-person at our Boutique for the final session.

Working Women’s Group

The Working Women’s Group (WWG) ― formerly known as Professional Women’s Group (PWG) ― provides a friendly, welcoming environment for women to learn, grow, and share experiences to build their network. This 8-week program is open to individuals who are currently employed and looking to further advance their career.

Navigating Careers with Community | BIPOC Youth Cohort

Program Overview:

Who Should Apply:

The goal of this Cohort is to provide a community of ongoing support for Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour (BIPOC) women* as they work to grow their careers.

To be eligible you must meet all these criteria:

  • Self-identify as a woman ages 18-29
  • Living in the GTHA (Greater Toronto Hamilton Area)
  • Self-identify as BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Colour)
  • Looking to make connections with other BIPOC women
  • Looking to advance their careers
  • Access to technology to attend virtual sessions


Once your application has been received, those who meet the above criteria will be invited to participate in a 30 minute intake conversation on Zoom. We will confirm the status of all applicants.

*DFS Toronto uses the term “women” in a gender expansive way to include any woman-identified person — cis, trans, non-binary, gender non-conforming, gender queer, and Two-Spirit.

This FAQ-style session will provide interested participants with more information on key components including the registration process, cohort eligibility, scheduling, workshop topics, program structure, and more!

Cohort Structure & Dates:

This hybrid program (offered at no cost to participants) features monthly discussion-style workshops on Zoom. Participants and special guests will be encouraged to share knowledge, discuss the unique lived experiences of BIPOC women and engage in dynamic group conversations.

All virtual sessions will be held on Thursday evenings from 6:00 – 7:30 PM EST:

  • April 18 | Kick off Session – Looking Inward: Your Self-Trust Journey
  • May 23 | Code Switching and Imposter Syndrome
  • June 20 | Telling Your Story and Self-Perception
  • July 18 | Money Management and Financial Literacy
  • August 22 | Managing Challenging Conversations and Belonging in the Workplace
  • September 19 | Job Application Process – Disclosure, Concealing and Downplaying
  • October 17 | Networking – Mastering Connections for Success
  • November 21 | Pathways Forward, Career Movement and Planning


In addition to these online sessions there will be in-person opportunities to network with other BIPOC women and working professionals. Event dates will be shared once the cohort starts. Participants will also be invited to join the DFS Toronto Cohort Alumni LinkedIn Group.

Application Dates & Deadlines:

We will be accepting applications throughout the year, however we recommend applying early to benefit from attending as many of the sessions as possible. Online applications will be accepted until April 9, 2024.
